I'm sort of hip. I said SORT OF. I'm not super old yet and can still relate a little to the younger generation. Heck, I even text message my priests every week to let them know the time and place for our activity each week.
Currently my business phone gets charged 15 cents for each text. Incoming or outgoing, it doesn't matter. 15 cents. So this story got me a little perturbed when I learned that phone companies pay VERY little to send those text messages. So little, in fact, that over 99% percent of what they charge you is pure profit in their slimy, grubby little hands.

Either my dumb company needs to negotiate better rates or I'll be cutting back on those blasted texts.

15 cents, eh? Mine (personal phone) just upped theirs to 20 cents each, just like the article states. I'm in the wrong business, methinks...
Sheri Dew told us last week when we went to her talk that she texts all of her neices and nephews and they think she is so awesome. I hate that it costs so much. Especially I hate it now that you say it costs the companies nearly nothing to send them. Slimebuckets.
I have unlimited texts. Why companies don't get better plans is beyond me. Lee's company doesn't even have a minutes plan. Every one of them has a Verizon plan, and they don't even have mobile to mobile. Honestly!
