I am a Mormon...married to Lisa. We have 5 awesome children. I am a gun rights advocate and believe the 'right to keep and bear arms' refers to an INDIVIDUAL right, as affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court. I like to hunt big game, although I have only ever killed a single buck deer. I am an actor of sorts and have been in many local plays and musicals.

    Dayzz...Review

Shnikees. Did I say 30 minutes of fireworks? It actually turned out to be something like 40 minutes of fireworks. And what a show! They had a Neil Diamond impersonator singing on stage when we arrived and as it got dark, he started the fireworks show with what, you ask? America, of course. At the 25 minute mark, a finale started, which actually turned out to be the pre-cursor to 2 more songs and yet more fireworks. They finished the show with the theme song to Raiders of the Lost Ark. Nothing says "America" like Indian Jones!!!

But again, keep it quiet if you can. The 10,000 people that were there Saturday night would sure appreciate it.

Is this a newer thing or have they done it for years and years?

I don't know that I could sit through a Neil Diamond impersonator though. My husband does impressions of him just because he knows it ticks me off. I guess it comes from years of being forced to listen to the guy in the family car while growing up, and an elementary school choir director who made us sing 'Sweet Caroline' over and over with actions and SNAPPING!! Argh!

The fireworks part sounds awesome though!

Hmm...seems like we've gone to them now for at least 6 years now. Not sure how long it's been going, but it's likely to become larger than West Valley's 'West Fest', if this year's attendance numbers are any indication.

Yeah, it's been about 6 years I think. And--you don't have to go early for the pre-fireworks entertainment if you don't want to. It's always really good though. TONIGHT, though, the Utah Symphony is free in the same park--I never miss it! 8:00 p.m.

BUT I have to say that I really missed the cannoneers and I thought that the music at first was not as great as it has been. Course, I am getting a little nitpicky...

Which Intelligence?

http://www.blogthings.com/whatkindofintelligencedoyouhavequiz/

My results: Your Dominant Intelligence is Interpersonal Intelligence

You shine in your ability to relate to and understand others. Good at seeing others' points of view, you get how people think and feel. You have an uncanny ability to sense true feelings, intentions, and motivations. A natural born leader, you are great at teaching and mediating conflict.

You would make a good counselor, salesperson, politician, or business person.
