I am a Mormon...married to Lisa. We have 5 awesome children. I am a gun rights advocate and believe the 'right to keep and bear arms' refers to an INDIVIDUAL right, as affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court. I like to hunt big game, although I have only ever killed a single buck deer. I am an actor of sorts and have been in many local plays and musicals.

    Marshall Thomas

My 4th son and 5th child was born March 26th at 1:15 PM. He weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. He is our smallest baby, but only because my wife was induced 2 weeks before her due date. This was due to some heart problems that she had experienced during her pregnancy. She generally experiences what is call SVT or Supra Ventricular Tachycardia with each pregnancy. However, with this pregnancy, the SVT was MUCH worse than normal. "Normal" would be 1 episode per week, but she was having more like 5 per day. She saw a cardiologist and he recommended Digoxin, but that did not work, so he put her on a Beta Blocker. It worked pretty well, but did not stop the episodes, just made them less intense.

About 3 hours after Marshall was born, Lisa had a really bad heart palpitation. Her heart rate shot up to 180 bpm and then hovered around 170 bpm for a solid 2.5 hours. When 8 nurses, 2 doctors, and 2 crash carts were in the room, I got slightly nervous. They ended up giving her a shot of Adenosine, which essentially stopped her heart momentarily and then 'restarted' it. It was a little nerve-racking, although we have done it once before. Her heart immediately settled back down to 75 bpm. Since then, she has been back on the beta blockers and will wean herself off slowly to see if they go away.

Anyhoo, Marshall is as cute a baby as we've ever had, and reminds us quite a bit of our second son, Blake. He doesn't cry much...only when he's hungry. And while he's only 2 weeks old, he is already on a great sleeping schedule and only wakes us up once per night for a feeding.

The name 'Marshall' is not a family name, although Lisa's mother's name is 'Marsha'. 'Thomas' IS a family name on both sides of the family. It was not until a few weeks before his birth that we finally settled on the full name. We tried TONS of middle names but none of them felt or sounded right. At Sunday dinner, my brother finally suggested 'Thomas' and it sounded great! Thanks, brother!

Which Intelligence?

http://www.blogthings.com/whatkindofintelligencedoyouhavequiz/

My results: Your Dominant Intelligence is Interpersonal Intelligence

You shine in your ability to relate to and understand others. Good at seeing others' points of view, you get how people think and feel. You have an uncanny ability to sense true feelings, intentions, and motivations. A natural born leader, you are great at teaching and mediating conflict.

You would make a good counselor, salesperson, politician, or business person.
