I am a Mormon...married to Lisa. We have 5 awesome children. I am a gun rights advocate and believe the 'right to keep and bear arms' refers to an INDIVIDUAL right, as affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court. I like to hunt big game, although I have only ever killed a single buck deer. I am an actor of sorts and have been in many local plays and musicals.

    Liberal Cookies and Opposites

Lisa and I make the best homemade chocolate chip cookies in the universe. I could tell you where we get the recipe, but then I would have to KILL YOU! No, seriously. So don't ask. The book where we get the recipe calls them "Hillary Rodham Clinton's Chocolate Chip Cookies". Yeah, right. Like Hillary has ever baked a cookie! Whatev.

If you know me, I am all about opposites. I like to swallow gallons of salt while drinking a soda. I like to mix strange ingredients in a recipe and be surprised by how well they mesh. You know...sweet/salty, sour/bitter. Ever tried SALT on your grapefruit instead of sugar? You can actually TASTE the grapefruit without damaging your pie hole with a pucker-from-Hades. Sugar just makes the grapefruit tolerable. Salt removes the bitterness and tempers the sour.

I generally make the cookies with half milk chocolate chips and half semi-sweet. Yesterday I made them with Hershey's Special Dark chips. Pretty darn good, if you don't mind my sayin', but I think I'll stick with the half-and-half recipe.

A friend of mine once asked me if I thought it was really necessary that we experience pain in this life. He posed the question, "Couldn't God have just placed us here and tested us without all this physical pain?" My answer was a resounding "No."

We all have an internal compass which guides our decisions. In fact, our society is based on a belief in right and wrong that was derived from Holy Scripture. If we didn't call something "good" we couldn't define something else as "bad". In fact, that is what we elect people to do. To define and enforce laws based on what we believe as right or wrong. If some elected official alters his definition of right and wrong to something different than the general populace, he is replaced.

In short, if God placed us here and took away all of the discomforts of this mortal shell, we wouldn't be able to compare it in any way with pleasure. How boring.

Keep it frosty, folks! Mix things up a little!

It makes sense to me Lance. My heart is in agreeance with that.
I can't believe how big Marshall is getting. Boy is he cute! Teaching them how to eat solids is such a frustration sometimes. Funny too. I love the pictures depicting the story.

Which Intelligence?

http://www.blogthings.com/whatkindofintelligencedoyouhavequiz/

My results: Your Dominant Intelligence is Interpersonal Intelligence

You shine in your ability to relate to and understand others. Good at seeing others' points of view, you get how people think and feel. You have an uncanny ability to sense true feelings, intentions, and motivations. A natural born leader, you are great at teaching and mediating conflict.

You would make a good counselor, salesperson, politician, or business person.
