We want our children to be well rounded, but we also make sure they have their own personal time to play and just be kids. We are commanded to be "anxiously engaged" in good things and to reduce idle time. But, as Mr. Miyagi taught Daniel, there must be balance in all things.
Miyagi: You remember lesson about balance?
Daniel: Yeah.
Miyagi: Lesson not just karate only. Lesson for whole life. Whole life have a balance. Everything be better.
Righteousness cannot exist without sin. Good, evil. Happy, sad. Pleasure, pain....you get the picture. As each kid grows, the tightrope act becomes more and more difficult because 7 lives hang in the balance. I really have no idea how single parents do it. They must be upheld by a squadron of angels or something.
Flippin' crazy!

Seriously. I have trouble keeping up with 2 parents in the house.
I can see(and I only have 3 children) why every time I ever asked mom for help, a ride, a question, anything, the answer was undoubtedly "NO!" We had to fend for ourselves as I remember. One mom and an absent dad was not enough to spread between 9 us's. she knew that and so do I!
